Hotspot Helper Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 7, 2026
This policy covers the Hotspot Helper Android app, published by Spicy Corp (“we,” “us”). Hotspot Helper runs on your phone and manages an external GL.iNet Mudi travel router over your local network, turning the router’s admin console into a one-tap checklist. This policy describes, in plain terms, what the app does with data.
The short version
- Hotspot Helper has no user accounts and no login.
- It contains no analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs, and talks to no Spicy Corp server. We never receive your data.
- It configures your own router on your own local network. It does not route, read, or collect your browsing or network traffic.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with any third party.
Google Play Data safety summary
This maps our practices to Google Play’s Data safety categories, so this policy and the store form say the same thing:
| Data type | Collected | Shared |
|---|---|---|
| Location | No, used on the device only for optional geofencing, never sent off your device | No |
| All other categories (personal info, financial info, messages, photos, contacts, app activity, diagnostics, web history) | No | No |
Nothing is sent to Spicy Corp, to any advertising or analytics company, or to any data broker, and nothing is sold. The app talks only to your own router on your own network.
What the app does, and the data involved
Managing your router. Hotspot Helper communicates with your GL.iNet Mudi router over your local network to configure and harden it: network settings, the Wi-Fi configuration, the VPN and DNS options you choose, and clearing the router’s own logs. This is a conversation between your phone and your router on your own network. Your browsing and network traffic are not routed through us and are not collected by the app.
Location (optional geofencing). If you turn on geofenced automation, the app uses your device’s location on the device to trigger the actions you set up. It is used locally for that purpose and is not sent to Spicy Corp or anyone else.
VPN and DNS. If you configure a VPN or DNS service, your traffic goes to the provider you choose, under their terms. Spicy Corp is not in that path and does not see it.
What the app does NOT do
No accounts. No analytics or usage tracking. No crash reporting. No advertising or advertising identifiers. No connection to any Spicy Corp server. It does not collect your browsing history, your messages, your contacts, or your network traffic, and it does not sell or share your information.
Who we share information with
Spicy Corp shares your information with no one, because we never receive it. Any VPN or DNS provider you configure handles your traffic under its own terms, by your choice, not ours. We do not use advertisers, analytics companies, or data brokers, and we do not sell data.
Data retention
Spicy Corp retains none of your data, because we never receive it. Settings the app saves stay on your device and on your own router.
Deletion and your choices
Uninstalling the app removes its local data from your device. For any question or request, email hello@spicycorp.com.
Children
Hotspot Helper is a tool for managing your own networking hardware and is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
We’ll post updates here with a new effective date, and reflect any material change in the app’s store data disclosures.
