Soaq Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Soaq. Hot Springs Finder mobile app for Android and iOS, published by Spicy Corp (“we,” “us”). It describes what the app actually does with data, in plain terms. Our website store has its own policy at spicycorp.com/privacy-policy; this one is specifically about the app.

The short version

• Soaq has no user accounts. You never register, and we can’t identify you by name.
• Soaq contains no analytics or advertising SDKs. We don’t track what you tap, view, or search.
• Your location never leaves your device. It’s used on-device to show you on the map and find springs near you.
• We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with data brokers or advertisers.

What the app collects, and why

Purchases and subscriptions. If you subscribe to Soaq Premium or buy lifetime access, the purchase is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. To recognize your subscription and restore it across reinstalls, our subscription service provider, RevenueCat, processes your purchase history together with a device identifier. RevenueCat acts as our service provider and may not use this data for its own purposes. We never see your payment card details, those stay with Google or Apple.

Location. With your permission, the app uses your device’s location while you’re using it, to center the map and show nearby hot springs. This happens on your device. The app does not send your location to our servers or to anyone else, does not use background location, and stops using location entirely if you decline or revoke the permission (you can still browse the map manually).

Content requests. Like any connected app, when Soaq loads map tiles, spring data, or weather forecasts, the servers involved receive standard network request data such as your IP address. Our content is served from our own infrastructure hosted on Cloudflare; weather forecasts come from a weather data service. These requests are not linked to any account or profile, because none exists.

That is the full list. There are no hidden categories.

What the app does NOT collect

No name, email, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, messages, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. No analytics events. No background location. If a future version changes any of this, we will update this policy and the app-store data disclosures before shipping it.

Our team’s field photos

Spicy Corp team members use a special internal build of the app to photograph hot springs for the app’s catalog. That capability is not present in the public app you download from the stores. Photos you see in Soaq were taken or licensed by us.

Who we share information with

• Google Play / Apple App Store, process payments for subscriptions and purchases under their own terms.
• RevenueCat, our subscription-management service provider, as described above.
• Cloudflare, hosts our app content infrastructure and, like any host, sees standard request logs.

We do not share information with advertisers, analytics companies, or data brokers, and we do not sell it.

How long we keep it, and deletion

Subscription records are retained while needed to provide your purchased service and to meet accounting and tax requirements. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the data associated with your device or purchases at any time by emailing hello@spicycorp.com. Because the app has no accounts, include your original purchase receipt or order number so we can locate the records. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data (saved springs, cached maps, preferences) from your device.

Children

Soaq is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell or “share” (as defined by the CCPA) personal information. You have the right to know what information we hold, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Contact hello@spicycorp.com to exercise them.

Changes to this policy

We’ll post updates here with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will also be reflected in the app stores’ data disclosures.
